Thanks to its victory on Saturday over Uzbekistan (1-0), France obtained its ticket for the semi-finals of the Under-17 World Cup.

With more than 10 minutes of added time decided at the end of regulation time in the second half, the French U17 team was far from calm on Saturday, facing the pressure exerted by Uzbekistan on the pitch at the Manahan stadium from Surakarta, Indonesia.

Jean-Luc Vannuchi’s players managed to hold on to this 1-0, Ismail Bouneb’s goal scored in the 83rd, notably with a decisive intervention from goalkeeper Paul Argney (90th+9).

The young Blues find themselves in the semi-finals of the U17 World Cup and will face Mali or Morocco. The false note came from Yanis Issoufou, provisionally suspended by Fifa, indicated The Team.

The Montpellier player is said to be under investigation after complaints filed by Burkina Faso then Senegal.

Issoufou had worn the Niger jersey during a qualifying competition for the U17 CAN 2023, itself decisive for participating in this U17 World Cup
