Still dreaming of recruiting and combining Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland, Real Madrid has taken steps to achieve its goal.

As in the era of Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo and other Beckhams, the president of Real Madrid once again dreams of bringing together the cream of the crop within the Casa Blanca. The boss of the Merengue club has therefore never hidden his interest in Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland. And if the two nuggets have, for one decided to stay at PSG, for the other chosen to commit to Manchester City, the desire to bring them to Real Madrid is more than ever present in the minds of Florentino Perez. As a good economist, the latter also prepared the ground and now, his club is ready.
This Thursday, A.S. took stock of the financial situation of the Madrid club. And the least we can say is that all the lights are green. Enough to make the Spanish media say that the coffers are so full, that the combined recruitments of Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland are far from being utopian. According to its information, the specialized site explained that Real Madrid currently had some 128 million euros at immediate disposal. And that’s not all since the club could also count on a sum of around 265 million euros, in the form of credits that can be used at will, as they have already been validated.
A payroll that has melted
In total, it’s a real jackpot of nearly 400 million euros that Madrid accountants and recruiters can use if necessary. A galactic recruit from next summer, it’s therefore feasible. Two, it is also possible, even if such a possibility would have to be studied in detail. But another fact points towards the feasibility of such a project. And it concerns the level of Real’s payroll. Based on figures given by the ECA (European Club Association), Madrid went from 72% (519 million euros in total salary expenditure, for 712 million euros in final revenue) to 54% (452 million euros in total salary expenses, for €843 million in total revenue).
The combined departures of Karim Benzema, Eden Hazard and other Marco Asensio will not have had anything to do with this drop in the payroll. The economic health of Real Madrid is therefore in perfect harmony with the galactic dreams of Florentino Perez. It now remains to convince Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland to join forces and their talent under the merengue colors. In a renovated Bernabeu stadium, which will be inaugurated next spring, the months and years to come could be more spectacular than ever.
