Deco, the sporting director of FC Barcelona, says that the Spanish international Gavi is irreplaceable, and refuses to recruit a replacement.
FC Barcelona will have to deal with a long absence of Gavi, injured in the knee during Spain’s victory against Georgia (3-1), last Sunday. The midfielder will be unavailable for six to eight months. The Catalan club is therefore authorized to recruit a medical joker, but sporting director Deco declared that the 2022 Golden Boy was “irreplaceable”.
“To this day, Gavi is a player who cannot be replaced, he is irreplaceable. There is no player on the market who can do his job, neither with his mentality nor with his abilities, he told the EFE news agency. It’s a mistake to think that we will find a player to replace him. We won’t do it. »
And added: “We’re not going to go crazy with Gavi’s injury. It’s sad for him, for us as a club, but we won’t find a replacement. »
