Warren Zaire-Emery had a mixed first spell with the France team this Saturday against Gibraltar.
Warren Zaire-Emery became this Saturday evening the youngest French international in the post-war era. Lined up by Didier Deschamps against Gibraltar, the PSG midfielder will, however, keep a half-baked memory of this baptism of fire.
Zaire-Emery hit in the ankle
WZE only remained on the ground for a quarter of an hour. Time for him to unlock his selection goal counter, but also to contract an injury during the action in question. As he fired his shot, he was tackled at the ankle.
The new French international could not even celebrate his goal. We immediately saw him grimace. The medical staff then rushed to provide first aid.
Even though he got up, Zaire-Emery was unable to continue the game. He limped back to the French bench, then leaving his place to Youssouf Fofana. Acclaimed by the public at the Stade de France, he applauded the audience.
Once on the bench, Zaire-Emery had his ankle strapped. He was then seen smiling, but it was in no way indicative of the seriousness of his injury. After a quarter of an hour, he returned to the locker room. To do this, he had to get help from members of the blue staff because he could not walk on his own.
