To counter a refusal from UEFA, the Hopes of Poland and Israel organized a minute of silence after kick-off.
It’s an unusual scene. Just after the kick-off of their meeting, the Hopes of Poland and Israel, who faced each other on Friday in Lodz, remained motionless for long seconds. The reason ? The players wanted to perform a minute of silence to pay tribute to the victims of the Hamas attack last month, a minute of silence which had been refused by UEFA. So both teams chose to work around the problem, in their own way.
UEFA refused to organize a minute of silence before the start of the match between #Israel and Poland (under-21 team). In response, the two teams decided not to play the first minute of the match and observe a minute of silence in homage to the victims of #7October pic.twitter.com/wcwojTDBUy
