The France Espoirs team experienced its first defeat under the Thierry Henry era, this Friday, in Austria (2-0).

The Bleuets were simply not there… After having ideally started his story with the Espoirs, with four victories in a row, Thierry Henry experienced his first defeat in his coach’s suit, this Thursday, against Austria (2 -0), as part of the 4th day of the Euro U21 qualifiers.

Without their captain Warren Zaire-Emery, selected by Didier Deschamps, the Bleuets delivered a poor performance. Besides their subject, the Tricolores conceded two goals from Koller (25th and 75th), who exploited the generosity of the French defense.

The Austrians hit the posts 4 times

The bill could even have been heavier… The Austrians, in fact, created multiple chances and hit Guillaume Restes’ goal four times. Not to mention that they saw a goal logically refused to them for an offside position.

Despite this first defeat in these qualifiers, the Bleuets retain first place in their group, but see Slovenia return to their level with 9 points. Austria is 3rd with 7 units.
