Faced with Eduardo Camavinga’s withdrawal, the staff of the France team decided to call Képhren Thuram to replace him.
Hard blow for the Blues (and Real Madrid). Hit in a clash in training with Ousmane Dembélé, Eduardo Camavinga suffered a knee injury and was forced to forfeit the French team’s two matches against Gibraltar and Greece. If he wanted to be reassuring when leaving the pitch – limping – the Madrilenian underwent initial examinations which revealed a knee sprain.
The former Rennais must now return to Madrid to undergo additional examinations which will reveal the seriousness of this sprain and the duration of his unavailability. Eduardo Camavinga on the flank, the Blues staff decided to call Kephren Thuram to accompany Adrien Rabiot, Boubacar Kamara, Youssouf Fofana and Warren Zaire-Emery in the midfield, who could make his big debut with the France team at the occasion of the reception of Gibraltar, Saturday.
“Khéphren Thuram replaces Eduardo Camavinga. Eduardo Camavinga, who had to cut short his training session on Wednesday, went for examinations in the evening, accompanied by Dr. Franck Le Gall, the French team doctor. said the Federation, adding: “Didier Deschamps decided to call Khéphren Thuram as reinforcement. The Nice midfielder will return to the group in Nice tomorrow. He will wear number 6.”
At 22, the Nice midfielder currently has one selection for the Blues, won last March during the great success over the Netherlands (4-0).
