Neymar is under judicial investigation for employing a cleaning lady without declaring her employment, and he has also been accused of exploiting her.
According to The Parisian, Neymar was referred to the employment tribunal because he allegedly never declared the employment of the 35-year-old Brazilian, who is also a mother of four children. She claims to have worked seven days a week between January 2021 and October 2022 and is demanding payment of €368,000 from the Al-Hilal star.
The Parisian also reports that the plaintiff was forced to work until two weeks before the premature birth of her fourth child, and then left her position. As of 2021, she would have worked 60 hours per week for 15 euros per hour, although she claims to have never received a pay slip, nor benefited from vacation or paid leave.
The plaintiff’s lawyers stated: “Neymar exploited the precariousness of our client to impose unworthy working conditions on her, in violation of the basic rules of labor law.
“We deplore that such a person could have shown so much inhumanity, even going so far as to kick our client out of her home a few days before giving birth prematurely, while she was complaining of pain. We are now considering giving this case the criminal prosecution it deserves.”
Neymar’s camp told the Parisian that he had not been informed of the affair.
Neymar is currently sidelined with an anterior cruciate ligament injury. It remains to be seen whether the case will continue, and whether it will go to criminal court. It’s a possibility if the woman’s claims are proven.
