The former emblematic president of Olympique Lyonnais took the floor to make a big rant this week.

Although he has retired from the circuit since last spring, Jean-Michel Aulas keeps a wise and caring eye on Olympique Lyonnais. The former boss of the Rhone club remains “the number one supporter” of Les Gones, as he likes to repeat. And he experienced the violent incidents which took place in Marseille last month very badly.

This Marseille-Lyon match has been rescheduled for December 6, in the Marseille city. A decision that Jean-Michel Aulas absolutely does not understand.

“I didn’t imagine that the match could take place again in Marseille”

“ I can’t say everything either, because I am a member of the Comex and a member of the board of directors of the League, but we are going to abandon the institutional hats to speak. I’ve been in professional football for 36 years. There have already been a certain number of incidents of this type in Marseille, which were managed because the League delegate was on the bus, next to the president or the coach at the time, and he was able to draw a certain number of consequences from it. There, unfortunately, the delegate did not take a seat on the bus, but the fact remains that the League, like the host club, cannot exempt itself. Responsibility exists“, underlined Jean-Michel Aulas.

“ Personally, I did not imagine that the match could take place again in Marseille, he continued. There’s a call, we’ll see what happens. Once again, I speak in a personal capacity and not as a former president of the club. I no longer have any responsibilities in the club, other than being a spectator and a passionate supporter“, concluded the emblematic former president of OL.
