Samu Omorodion’s goal, 18 seconds into the match at the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys, was the difference between the two teams at half-time, and FC Barcelona’s woes appeared to continue. Xavi Hernandez’s side have often conceded the first goals in matches, adding to an increasingly worrying trend.
Remarkably, Samu’s goal isn’t even the earliest Barcelona have conceded this season, as Bryan Zaragoza scored for Granada after 17 seconds in the 2-2 draw earlier in October. These two goals are the fastest scored in La Liga this season.
Xavi must solve the problems of a Barcelona which starts too slowly. This problem threatens to derail his season, although it is only one of the problems facing the Catalans at the moment.
