Tragic death of Ghana international

A drama unfolded Saturday during a D1 Championship match in Albania. Raphael Dwamena was killed on the ground.

Raphael Dwamena died this Saturday during a match. An eight-time Ghanaian international (2017 and 2018), the 28-year-old collapsed shortly before the half-hour mark during a match in the Albanian championship between KS Egnatia Rrogozhine and FK Partizani.

“Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time. His legacy within our club will forever be engraved in our memories,” reacted Levante, the Spanish club where Raphael Dwamena played between 2018 and 2019 (photo).

The ex-Black Star was prone to heart problems and experienced discomfort in October 2021 while playing in Denmark (Vejle BK).
