Gary Lineker has reacted to Tyson Fury’s narrow and controversial victory over former UFC fighter Francis Ngannou in Saudi Arabia.

Former England striker and Match of the Day host Lineker called Fury’s fight, which ended in a split decision, a “steal.” One of the three judges agreed with Ngannou.

After a career in mixed martial arts that saw him become UFC heavyweight champion in 2021, Ngannou was making his professional boxing debut, but he still knocked out WBC heavyweight champion Fury , in the third round.

The English boxer said it was “one of my toughest fights in the last ten years”.

“We witnessed a theft“, regretted Lineker.

Fury is expected to face Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight, but the date has not yet been confirmed.
