Real and Barça already had their sights set on the Brazilian international signing for Arsenal from Manchester City. An interest that they have therefore rekindled, with the hope of being able to achieve their goals during the previous offseason.

The two Iberian big names both need a quality striker. Real has been looking for a replacement for Karim Benzema since last summer, while Barça is seeking to anticipate the departure of Robert Lewandowski. The Pole no longer embodies the future at Camp Nou.

Gabriel Jesus, who has 192 appearances and 60 goals in the Premier League, is under contract with Arsenal until the summer of 2027. He arrived at the Emirates Stadium almost 18 months ago from Manchester City. His first year in London was marked by a serious injury. Since then, it has recovered well and is in the process of regaining its optimal level.
