This Thursday, the president of the FFF Philippe Diallo announced that the French teams would use the train more often.

President of the French Football Federation since the ouster of Noël Le Graët, Philippe Diallo aims to give a new image to the FFF and the various French teams. This Thursday at a press conference, he announced a major decision which concerns the travel of these teams when they play in France.

Preferred use of the train

From now on, they will use the train for every trip of less than three hours. This decision comes in response to the numerous controversies concerning the almost systematic use of the plane by professional teams, as with the “sand yacht” affair of Christophe Galtier. “Our national teams will take the train for all trips of less than three hours. And I think of all the national selections, including the A”declared Diallo to justify his decision.

This decision applies primarily to the women’s team coached by Hervé Renard and the junior team of Thierry Henry. “We have already agreed with Hervé Renard that he would move his women’s team to Valenciennes by train. We had defined with Thierry Henry that his team would travel to Nancy by train. With Didier Deschamps, we began to study the train travel of our France A team during the matches it will play in March, in Lyon, to ensure that our France A team is the one that sets a good example and highlights an ecological transition policy that we support”, explained Diallo. For team A, the next home match (against Gibraltar on November 18) will be played in Nice and the trip will therefore not be by train.
