While the Seleçao lost 2-0 in Uruguay, Neymar left on a stretcher shortly before the break, visibly seriously injured in the knee.
The images unfortunately have an air of déjà vu. In tears, Neymar left the pitch at the Centenario Stadium in Montevideo lying on a stretcher. A few minutes earlier, the Brazilian had collapsed to the ground while dueling with De La Cruz. This time it was his left knee which seemed to have given way as he regained his support. The Seleçao doctor quickly requested his change and Neymar, with his hands on his face, was left to be evacuated.
Replaced by Richarlison, the Brazilian was able to leave the stretcher but had to be supported by doctors to return to the locker room, unable to put his foot on the ground. According to the Brazilian press, Neymar must now return to Sao Paulo to take the necessary exams to find out precisely the nature of his injury. But there was concern in the Brazilian ranks and the Al-Hilal player left the enclosure on crutches, his knee encased in a large splint.

And the evening was all the more nightmarish for the Seleçao as they lost 2-0 against Uruguay, conceding their first defeat of the qualifiers. A setback which comes four days after a poor draw against Venezuela (1-1) and which puts Brazil in third place in the standings, on the same line as its tormentor of the day but already five points behind the Argentina,
