Jean-Clair Todibo appeared before the press this Monday to apologize

The former Barça player spoke out after his behavior during the minute of silence organized for the victims of the conflict between Israel and Gaza as well as for the professor murdered in France.

The French player assured that he was overcome by “nervous laughter” before the start of the match against the Netherlands.

Faced with the press this Monday, the central defender of Nice and the Blues explained this passage, which was quite shocking for some.

“I wanted to express myself in relation to the extent that the situation is taking. The interpretation of the situation is quite crazy. I don’t think I’m a disrespectful guy when it comes to these things. The case was serious,” defused Todibo on the sidelines of the press conference of Didier Deschamps and Mike Maignan.

“I had a nervous laugh during this minute of silence but in no way was I making fun of the current situation. The context was quite special, in the stands we were among the opposing supporters. Some made certain jokes and I had a nervous laugh. I wanted to apologize to everyone I may have offended with this nervous laugh. It’s the least we can do, but make no mistake because in no way was I making fun of the situation. »
