Newcastle star Bruno Guimaraes remains open to a possible move to FC Barcelona.
Guimaraes played a crucial role for Eddie Howe’s side at the end of last season, when they qualified for the Champions League for the first time in two decades.
His importance at St. James’ Park has accelerated the club’s desire to sign him to a new contract at the start of the current campaign and the Brazil international has agreed an extension until 2028.
However, despite looking forward to his future, Guimaraes still seems to want to fulfill his dream of playing for FC Barcelona in the long term.
According to information from Diario Sport, Guimaraes has requested the insertion of a “Barcelona clause” in his new lease, which provides for a lower transfer fee in the event of departure from the Blaugrana.
Guimaraes is currently valued at around €85 million, but the price quoted by Barcelona could be closer to €65-70 million, if Barcelona consider the former Lyon playmaker as their future midfielder.
