Lionel Messi will not look to return in January on loan to FC Barcelona.
Since his move to Inter Miami, Messi has looked very comfortable and put in some impressive performances, leading the club to the League Cup title and the US Open Cup final last month .
However, the Blaugrana icon has suffered from injuries in recent weeks, and Inter Miami ultimately missed out on qualifying for the MLS play-offs.
Messi remains committed to playing for Argentina in the remaining matches in 2023 and he wants to stay in the United States to maintain his fitness for November’s World Cup qualifying matches.
Inter Miami coach Tata Martino has already dismissed speculation about Messi’s return to Catalonia as MLS begins a four-month winter break.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano backed up Martino’s comment by saying Messi was ready to play friendlies with Inter Miami in November and then take a vacation in December.
