The young Spanish coach included a funny clause in his contract with German club Bayer Leverkusen.
Bayer Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso’s contract includes a release clause for three clubs, it has been revealed.
Xabi Alonso doesn’t forget his exes
Xabi has built an impressive reputation at Bayer, where he is in his third season in charge of the team. Currently under contract with Leverkusen until 2026, the Basque technician can leave the club next summer for three different destinations for a fixed amount. This is what the media BILD reports.
The three clubs in question are Liverpool, Bayern and Real Madrid, who Xabi played for during his career.
Former Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld, however, advised Xabi not to rush: “It is difficult to say no to Real Madrid if the offer is really interesting, but I advise Xabi to stay at Leverkusen until 2025.”
“I think he should give the club the opportunity to play a leading role in the Bundesliga. He is still young and can gain a lot of experience here and leave something big. “That’s why I advise him not to leave after this season, but to stay at least one more year,” added the double European champion coach.
