While Olympique Lyonnais is going through an unprecedented crisis, one of the new investors already wants to slam the door.

Nothing is going well at OL anymore. On and off the lawn. While Les Gones, still beaten 2-0 in Reims, are in last place in Ligue 1, the club is facing very bad news behind the scenes.

According to L’Equipe, the Iconic company which invested 75 million euros to finalize the takeover of OL by Eagle Football has in fact activated its resale clause and is demanding its dues from John Textor.

Iconic Sports, owned by James Dinan, who also owns the Milwaukee Bucks NBA franchise, had acquired 19% of Eagle Football for 75 million euros. An entry into the capital which allowed John Textor to complete the process of selling OL by purchasing 78% of the club’s capital.

But an agreement between the two companies would not have been honored and Iconic has decided to exercise its put option and wishes to recover the 75 million invested.
