Euphoric against OM last Sunday, the PSG players were slowed down on Saturday evening in Clermont (0-0) for the 7th day of Ligue 1.
The approximately 600 Parisian supporters hoped to relive in Clermont a remake of PSG-OM won easily a week earlier at the Parc des Princes (4-0, 6th day of Ligue 1).
But Pascal Gastien’s players were much hungrier than their Provençal counterparts six days earlier. Like defender Cheick Konaté and Mory Diaw in particular.
The Senegalese goalkeeper repelled several hot chances, notably against Ousmane Dembélé (19th, 40th) and Gonçalo Ramos (81st) while Kylian Mbappé saw his 54th minute attempt hit the right outside post.

If Clermont Foot could not compete in terms of ball control (66.7% possession for PSG), it was not crushed either. Gianluigi Donnarumma, the Parisian goalkeeper, also had to put out the fire twice (46th, 53rd).
After a final save from Diaw, against Danilo (90th+1), the Clermontois, last in the Ligue 1 standings at kick-off, could be satisfied with this 0-0.
The Parisians are now looking towards the second day of the Champions League, Wednesday in Newcastle.
