At the opening of the 6th day of Serie A, Juventus hosted Empoli. After suffering its first defeat of the season on the pitch at Sassuolo, the Old Lady intended to resume its march forward this Monday against the surprise team at the start of the season in Italy. If Massimiliano Allegri’s players increased their runs to create space in the opposing defense, the match quickly fell into a false rhythm. Only one small opportunity was to be had in the first period when Federico Chiesa infiltrated the opposing area but his shot ended up flush with Wladimiro Falcone’s post (22nd).

We therefore had to wait until the second period to see things settle down. After another quarter of an hour without a dangerous situation, the Turinese took control of the match thanks to Arkadiusz Milik who headed home a well-aimed header from Adrien Rabiot (57th, 1-0). Danila’s teammates then continued to besiege the Lecce defense without succeeding in finding the fault while Mohamed Kaba received a red card in added time (90th + 3). Thanks to this small but beautiful victory acquired on the smallest of margins against a tough team, Juventus temporarily regains second place in Serie A while waiting for the matches scheduled for this Tuesday.
