Juventus experienced its first defeat of the season in Serie A on the pitch of Sassuolo during the 5th day of the Italian championship. Despite two first equalizers in the first half via a Matias Viña own goal and then at the very end of the match with a goal from Federico Chiesa, the Bianconeri were surprised in added time by a valiant local team when Andrea Pinamonti took advantage of a new bad assessment of Wojciech Szczesny.

The Turin goalkeeper, responsible for Armand Laurienté’s opener, was not helped by his defense. While the referee was about to whistle the end of the match, the Polish goalkeeper cleared a free kick near his corner post directly at Federico Gatti. The Italian defender, pressed by Matheus Henrique, wanted to return the ball to his teammate but he completely missed by aiming at his own cages which were deserted by the latter. A grotesque situation which perfectly symbolized Juventus’ bad evening.
