Lee Kang-In has officially been selected with South Korea for the Asian Games and will leave PSG after the Champions League match against Dortmund.
Barely recovered from a muscle injury (after starting PSG’s first two Ligue 1 matches in mid-August), Luis Enrique will miss Lee Kang-In for several weeks. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder has officially been summoned by the South Korean federation to play in the Asian Games which are taking place in Hangzhou (south of Shanghai).
Lee will leave PSG on Wednesday, the day after the first Champions League match against Dortmund on Tuesday evening, while the South Korean Espoirs face Kuwait, Thailand and Bahrain on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday in their group. The round of 16 and quarter-finals are scheduled for next week and the final four will be played on October 4 and 7.
The former Valencia and Mallorca player could therefore miss the Classic against PSG, the trip to Clermont, the LDC shock against Newcastle and even a match against Stade Rennais in Brittany (just before an international window in three weeks) . Only if he wins a gold medal will he be exempt from military service, which is always obligatory in the Land of the Morning Calm.
