After his thunderous debut in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal, Neymar could miss his team’s first match in the Asian Champions League. The Brazilian crack is not yet 100%.

After two goals and two assists with Brazil, against Bolivia then Peru, in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, Neymar made his big debut with Al-Hilal last Friday. The Brazilian star recruited from PSG entered on the hour mark to delight the audience, giving his first assist in Saudi Arabia, to his compatriot Malcom (83rd). He even left a penalty to local star Salem Al Dawsari.

The “Ney” might not continue this Monday evening (8 p.m.), at the opening of the Asian Champions League, with the reception of the Uzbek team of Navbahor Namangan. Clubs can only register five foreign players for each match and Jorge Jesus, Al-Hilal’s Portuguese coach, revealed that Neymar felt ” a slight pain » after his first match. Number 10 Auriverde could therefore be left out of the group for Monday’s match.

Al-Hilal is the most prestigious club in Saudi Arabia, with 18 league titles and 4 Asian LDC crowns. Yassine Bounou, Kalidou Koulibaly, Ruben Neves, Sergej Milinkovic Savic and Aleksandar Mitrovic now lead this team alongside Neymar. With this rather incredible armada, the Riyadh club is already the sole leader of the Saudi Pro League with five victories and a draw. It is just beginning !
