Igor Tudor, who left OM at the end of last season, could have joined AS Monaco straight away.

On June 1, Igor Tudor announced that he was leaving his position as coach of Olympique de Marseille at the end of the 2022-2023 financial year. “This year a lot of things happened, which happen at other clubs. Many beautiful things, some very difficult ones. Working here for 1 year is like working for 2 or 3 years elsewhere. I felt it within me that it was time to leave”declared the Croatian technician to justify his departure from the Marseille club.

However, Igor Tudor could have quickly bounced back at AS Monaco, which had made it its priority to succeed Philippe Clement. According to The Team, the leaders of the Principality club even offered him a golden bridge. The former defender, however, chose to decline this tempting offer out of respect for OM for letting him go free. “We accepted and respected the wish of our coach Igor Tudor not to continue the adventure next season”President Pablo Longoria explained at the beginning of last June.

The Monegasque leaders finally set their sights on the Austrian Adolf HĂŒtter. A choice which is currently bearing fruit since the Rocher club is currently at the top of Ligue 1, with three victories in four matches.
