France Football unveiled this Wednesday the list of 30 candidates for the conquest of the Ballon d’Or 2023.
The estate of Karim Benzema is open! We now know the names of the 30 contenders for the Ballon d’Or 2023. Two months before the final verdict, France Football communicated the identity of these different candidates on Wednesday.
Messi and Haaland, the two big favorites
It was the journalists of the French monthly who chose the list in question after consulting each other for a long time. They have selected 30 players, who in their view are the most likely to aim for the crown after their exploits during the 2022/2023 season. Two favorites are already emerging, in this case Lionel Messi and Erling Haaland. The Argentinian will also aim for his 8e consecration. Which is a record.
To designate the winner, the panel of juries remains the same. These are the journalists belonging to the top 100 countries in the FIFA rankings. Didier Drogba, the trophy ambassador, will also be able to vote.
Note that the winner’s announcement ceremony will take place on October 30 at the Théâtre Chatelet in Paris. You don’t change a winning method.
