AC Milan is preparing to reunite with Adidas, ten years after the end of their last collaboration. According to information from La Gazzetta dello Sportthe Italian club will leave Puma in the summer of 2028 to reconnect with the German equipment manufacturer. A ten-year contract, estimated at 500 million euros, or 50 million euros per season, would be planned between the two parties. A major financial operation for the Rossoneri, who joined Puma in 2018 with an initial agreement of around 14 million euros annually. Renegotiated in 2022, this partnership has since brought in nearly 30 million euros per season. With Adidas, Milan could therefore increase its revenues linked to its equipment supplier by 20 million euros each year. An important progression for the club owned by RedBird, which continues to develop its commercial revenues.
This return of Adidas also has a historic dimension for Milanese supporters. The brand with the three stripes accompanied several of the club’s greatest periods, notably in the early 1990s under Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello, then between 1998 and 2018. It was with Adidas on the jersey that AC Milan won the 2003 and 2007 Champions Leagues under Carlo Ancelotti, as well as the Italian championship in 1999 with Alberto Zaccheroni. Financially, this future partnership would exceed that of Juventus, which signed an agreement of 408 million euros over ten years with Adidas, but also that of Inter, linked to Nike for around 30 million euros per season. The German brand would thus strengthen its presence in Serie A, while Puma would lose one of its main European clubs. The first new Milan jerseys signed Adidas are expected for the 2028-2029 season.
