Thibaut Courtois has not yet given up on the Clasico. Declared forfeited by Real Madrid this Sunday morning due to flu, the Belgian goalkeeper finally hopes to be able to join his teammates to face FC Barcelona in a few hours. While the Madrid club had announced its withdrawal from this highly anticipated poster, the 34-year-old goalkeeper is now optimistic about his recovery and plans to make the trip to Catalonia, as indicated by The Athletic.

Courtois’ presence, however, remains uncertain, his participation depending on the evolution of his state of health in the coming hours. His possible return would constitute a significant reinforcement for Real Madrid, as the Belgian has established himself as an essential element of the team in major events. The Madrid staff will therefore have to wait before knowing if they can count on their starting goalkeeper for this clash against Barça.
