Tottenham scored a valuable victory on Chelsea’s pitch (0-2) this Saturday in the Premier League, allowing Roberto De Zerbi to breathe after a complicated start to the season. But this successful evening was overshadowed by the injury to James Maddison. Holder of the number 10 position, the English attacking midfielder had to leave his partners in the 51st minute, causing concern from his coach. Already regularly hampered by injuries during his career, the player represents an important element of the Spurs system, who this time hope to avoid another long unavailability.

Questioned after the meeting, Roberto De Zerbi did not hide his concern and is now awaiting medical examinations to find out the seriousness of the problem. “I hope it’s not a serious problem. We have to do the medical examination tomorrow. I hope it’s nothing serious because James Maddison is a vital player for us. We need him”declared the Italian technician. Despite the relief caused by this success against the Blues, Maddison’s physical state therefore constitutes the main downside of the London evening.
