Traveling to Manchester City, Paris Saint-Germain scored a resounding victory (2-4) this Wednesday evening in the Champions League.

PSG struck a big blow. After their great inaugural success against Slovan Bratislava (6-1), the double European champions delivered a high-level performance on the pitch of Manchester City (2-4), this Wednesday evening for the 2nd day of the league phase of the Champions League.

The first period delivered by Luis Enrique’s men was a true masterpiece, marked by clinical efficiency and surgical transition play which completely extinguished the Etihad Stadium. At the end of a magnificent collective action, Désiré Doué opened the scoring with a cross shot which deceived Gianluigi Donnarumma (0-1, 13th).

Two minutes later, Doué became a passer for Ousmane Dembélé’s header (0-2, 15th). After an opportunity from Achraf Hakimi which crashed into the post (31st), Vitinha gave his team an even greater advantage with a shot from the edge of the area (32nd).

After giving the Citizens a real lesson in the first period, the Parisians were shaken up in the second. Despite the reduction in Erling Haaland’s logical score with a header (1-3, 53rd), Maghnes Akliouche quickly restored a three-goal lead (1-4, 62nd). The Norwegian striker then hit the bar (74th), before scoring twice and reigniting the suspense (2-4, 75th). In vain since the Ile-de-France residents ended up winning, despite a missed penalty from Ferran Torres (90th).
