Return to sender for this Barça flop

Since the start of the summer, it’s more than likely that at least one of FC Barcelona’s forwards will be sold in order to bolster the squad elsewhere.

However, with days to go, none left, as the competition only increased with the hatching of teenager Lamine Yamal.

It was perhaps predictable that other teams would test FC Barcelona’s resolve to retain these forwards with lower offers towards the end of the market, especially since it is common knowledge that the coach Xavi Hernandez failed to strengthen all areas of the squad that he wanted.

According to Diario AS, Ferran Torres and Raphinha interest Chelsea, who did not hesitate to put their hands in their pockets at the end of the transfer window.

The former started the season in fine form, scoring twice in just 33 minutes as a substitute, while the latter seemed to have his place in the starting XI secured by Ousmane Dembele’s exit. However, his expulsion on the first day and the brilliant performances of Yamal have already put his place under pressure.

FC Barcelona would probably be willing to sell Torres for a reasonable price, given that he has been given far less trust than Raphinha over the past season. However, as Torres has reacted to the difficulties he has faced this season, it remains to be seen what exactly is the right price. There’s no doubt the club want to at least recoup some of the €55m they paid for him.
