Juventus sees the emergence of a serious competitor in the Franck Kessié file. According to Sky Sport ItaliaAS Roma inquired about the 29-year-old Ivorian midfielder, now free after the end of his adventure in Saudi Arabia. A profile particularly appreciated by Gian Piero Gasperini, who knows Kessié perfectly having trained him at Atalanta before his departure to AC Milan. For now, Roma have only expressed interest, while Juventus continue to push for his signature. The Bianconeri are, however, not yet in a position to finalize the operation.
Before taking action, Juventus must free up space in its midfield and the sale of Fabio Miretti may not be enough in itself. This need to conclude several departures slows down the Turin club and leaves a window for Roma to try to take the lead. Kessié knows Serie A perfectly after playing for seven seasons in Italy, between Cesena, Atalanta and AC Milan. The Roman track would also offer him the possibility of meeting Gasperini several years after their collaboration in Bergamo.
