Bradley Barcola’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain seems to be getting tense. While the French international did not participate in the Champions Trophy against Lens on Sunday, the Parisian winger should remain on the sidelines until his future has been clarified. Indeed, this Monday evening, The Team specifies that PSG wishes to preserve its player while discussions continue around a possible transfer to Liverpool.

As a reminder, the English club – which has already seen a first offer refused and which plans to return to the charge – is one of the most serious contenders and negotiations remain open, even if no final agreement has yet been found. This sidelining comes after Luis Enrique had recently suggested that players whose future was uncertain could have to wait before returning to the group.

After the defeat against Lens, the Parisian coach said: “I will talk about the transfer window when the transfer window is over”without wanting to say more about the situation of the ex-Lyonnais. For Barcola, the wait could therefore be prolonged in the coming days and its future will mainly depend on the evolution of discussions with Liverpool and the ability of the two clubs to find common ground.

One thing, however, seems clear: as long as the situation is not definitively resolved, PSG should continue to preserve their attacker. “He’s our son and we want to protect him. There are studies that show that when a player is mentally disturbed, the risk of injury is higher. It’s a decision by the coach, but it’s also because Bradley is not 100% available”explains the Parisian club in this regard.
