The Vinicius Jr file continues to monopolize Real Madrid news and the last few weeks have only reinforced the uncertainties surrounding his future. Despite several months of discussions, negotiations for a contract extension remain blocked and no decisive progress has yet been recorded. This situation directly benefits Arsenal, which monitors the slightest development with particular attention. The Gunners dream of achieving the biggest coup of the transfer window by attracting the Brazilian international to London, where Mikel Arteta considers him the centerpiece capable of taking his team to a new milestone. The Spanish coach has already spoken with the player in order to present his sporting project to him and guarantee him a central role in the London squad. For its part, Real Madrid is still trying to keep one of its main headliners, but the financial demands of the Vinicius camp considerably complicate the mission of the Madrid leaders.

However, discussions have continued in recent days with a new proposal revised upwards by Casa Blanca. The Spanish club would have increased its offer to around 22 million euros per season in order to convince its winger to extend his adventure at the Santiago Bernabéu. A significant improvement which nevertheless remains insufficient in the eyes of the player and those around him. Vinicius would like to obtain a salary close to 30 million euros net per year, accompanied by a significant bonus as well as greater control over his image rights. This gap continues to slow down negotiations as his contract dangerously approaches its end. Arsenal remains hopeful of taking advantage of the situation and would be ready to invest nearly 150 million euros to convince Real Madrid to sell their star before running the risk of seeing his value decline even further.

A departure more than possible

The new revelations revealed by El Larguero now reinforce the idea that a departure is no longer a secondary scenario. A few hours before a crucial meeting organized in Madrid, journalist Toño García explained that Vinicius’ high salary demands made the discussions particularly complex. Guest of the show, Pedja Mijatovic was very pessimistic about the outcome of the negotiations. The former sporting director of Real Madrid believes that the player’s behavior suggests that he is not really convinced by an extension and that he is now seriously studying offers from abroad. According to him, Arsenal are clearly among the most determined candidates and would be ready to make a spectacular offer to secure the services of the Brazilian striker. Mijatovic even considers that if no agreement is reached quickly, Real Madrid would have every interest in accepting a sale in order to recover very significant compensation rather than exposing themselves to an even more delicate situation in the coming months.

Tomás Roncero also shares this concern and draws a parallel that resonates strongly in the recent history of the Madrid club. The journalist of A.S. recalls that Cristiano Ronaldo left Real Madrid after a similar financial disagreement when the club refused to meet his salary expectations. According to him, Vinicius is not only demanding a higher amount, but above all seeking recognition comparable to that granted today to Kylian Mbappé. This quest for status could ultimately weigh more than the purely economic aspect. Roncero, however, assures that the Brazilian does not plan to leave free and that he will favor either a satisfactory extension or a transfer this summer. This reading of events reinforces the impression that Arsenal have a real shooting window. If Real Madrid refuses to go up to the 30 million euros requested and if Vinicius sticks to his positions, the soap opera could quickly turn towards a historic transfer which would completely shake up the European market.
