The absence of Zlatan Ibrahimović at the funeral of Franco Baresi, organized this Tuesday in Milan, is not linked to the Swedish leader’s agenda. According to several Italian media, the former AC Milan striker has followed a personal rule for several years when he is faced with the disappearance of a loved one or a figure he knew. Despite the strong bond that united him with the Rossonera legend, Ibrahimović did not attend the ceremony organized in the Sant’Ambrogio basilica.
This choice dates back to the death of his brother, who died of leukemia in 2014. Since this family tragedy, Zlatan Ibrahimović has profoundly changed his relationship with mourning and avoided funeral ceremonies. He had already adopted this attitude during the funeral of Silvio Berlusconi in 2023 and then of his former agent Mino Raiola in 2022. An intimate and constant decision which today explains his absence to pay a last tribute to Franco Baresi.
