Between Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus Turin, discussions around Randal Kolo Muani always resemble a game of lying poker. Already last summer, the two clubs were bogged down in endless negotiations. Turin management, seeking at all costs to obtain a discount despite the Frenchman’s very successful loan from January to June 2025 (10 goals in 22 appearances), ended up letting the French international slip to Tottenham in the final hours of the transfer window in the form of a dry loan.
A monumental strategic error that the Old Lady dragged like a ball and chain all season. Weighed down by the disappointing performances of Jonathan David and Loïs Openda, and orphaned by Dušan Vlahović, Juve finished in a very sad 6th place in Serie A. A sporting fiasco which also cost general manager Damien Comolli his place, since replaced by Giovanni Carnevali. To avoid repeating the same mistakes, the new Turin sports management seemed to have taken the bull by the horns. At the end of June, a total agreement was even on the verge of being sealed between the different parties around a loan with a compulsory purchase option set at 40 million euros.
PSG regains control in the Kolo Muani file
The optimism was such that Randal Kolo Muani (32 caps) already imagined himself finally experiencing a full pre-season with his new club, with a hoped-for return to Continassa in mid-July before embarking on the summer tour between Hong Kong and Perth. But that was without taking into account the economic reality of Italian training. According to our information, the file has once again bogged down in recent days due to the significant financial constraints weighing on Turin’s finances.
Until now, Paris Saint-Germain had shown clemency by giving absolute priority to Juventus, wishing to respect the primary desire of their striker to return to Piedmont. But faced with this new stagnation and the lack of guarantees, the capital club decided to signal the end of recess. Taking matters completely in hand, the Parisian board officially opened discussions to other teams. A change of direction which did not take long to react: several Premier League clubs including Aston Villa and Crystal Palace and Bundesliga clubs such as Borussia Dortmund are already very interested in the profile of the 27-year-old player. Juventus has now been warned: if it does not find the funds quickly, Kolo Muani will escape it a second time.
