A year after his arrival at Juventus Turin, Jonathan David could already be packing up. The Canadian international is coming off a successful World Cup at all levels: collectively, the Canucks achieved the best performance in their history by reaching the 1/8 finals (3-0 defeat against Morocco), and individually, the ex-Lille player scored three goals (treble against Qatar). Enough to increase its rating on the market? Juve hopes so because as explained La Gazzetta dello SportLuciano Spalletti does not intend to keep the 26-year-old striker.

If David is convinced he can succeed in his second season, the Juve coach would like to move towards another type of attacker profile. In addition to Randal Kolo Muani, his priority, and the young recruit Jeff Ekhator, the former Italian coach would like a third number nine (Openda will leave, certainly on loan). He would have notably criticized David for being “too nice” on the ground and not “not hurting yourself enough.” The relationship between the two men has had its ups and downs in recent months, with Spalletti not hesitating to criticize him publicly. A standoff is launched between the two men, indicates the transalpine daily.
