After PSG’s Champions League coronation on Saturday, several clashes took place between the police and people present in the capital, causing numerous injuries. Yesterday, a 24-year-old police officer was sentenced to two years in prison, including ten months suspended for holding a man at gunpoint. It was out of service during the events which took place after the meeting around 10 p.m., at the Quai des Grands-Augustins, in the 6th arrondissement of Paris. Two friends were driving their car to celebrate the club’s victory, and the man had stood in front of their vehicle before pulling out his gun, Brandon and Redda explained to BFMTV And RMC.
“He pulled out his gun without identifying himself as a police officer, without putting on an armband, and he robbed my friend at the wheel, and told him to turn off the ignition, insulting him as a ‘son of a bitch.’ He also said: “don’t move or I’ll shoot you”, then he tried to put me on the ground, and he pointed his gun in front of my face, without any reason, fortunately there were witnesses and the gendarmerie on the spot” they explained to the sources. According to the investigation, the police officer was drunk and was accompanied by a man wearing a police balaclava. Both were arrested and at the hearing, the official claimed to remember nothing. He therefore risks being permanently banned from practicing his profession.
