OM: Ndiaye does not digest

Iliman Ndiaye made a rather mediocre copy on Saturday evening during OM-Brest (2-0). The former Sheffield United striker suffered the blow by being substituted in the second half. Arrived as a star, the Senegalese has not yet digested this new status.

Inevitably, the images of smoke bombs brandished by hundreds of OM supporters welcoming Iliman Ndiaye at the airport reappear today with another reading. The former Sheffield United striker didn’t ask to be treated like a star when he landed in Marseille in early August before signing with the Provence club.

The 23-year-old player does not seem to digest this new status, which the media and / or the management of the Marseille club have kindly attributed to him, when we look at his performances. Since the start of the season, Iliman Ndiaye has not “broke the house”, like his performance against Brest (2-0), Saturday evening as part of the 3rd day of Ligue 1.

OM score just after leaving

With mixed statistics, 58% of successful passes and 56% of duels won (source The Team), the Senegalese international born in Rouen was not decisive against the Bretons. Released in the 65th minute, Iliman Ndiaye accused the blow. An image showing him shot on the substitutes’ bench has fueled social networks.

Entering in his place, Vitinha, on the contrary, continued to score points with his great determination. The Portuguese center-forward, author of two goals in Ligue 1 this season, was involved in the goal of the break signed Ismaïla Sarr, a few seconds after Marcelino called Ndiaye to leave (2-0, 65th) .

We would not be surprised to see Iliman Ndiaye absent from the eleven of OM, next Friday evening in Nantes.
