A few hours before the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in Budapest, the Hungarian authorities have put in place a major security system. More than 4,000 police officers will be mobilized around the Puskás Aréna, in train stations, metro stations, the city center and around the various fan zones. Although no particular threat has been reported at this stage, the meeting is nevertheless considered sensitive by UEFA due to the expected attendance and the strong presence of foreign supporters.
According to information reported by The Teamnearly 10,000 English supporters without tickets are expected to travel to Hungary to follow the match from bars and dedicated areas. An influx which represents an additional point of vigilance for local authorities, particularly in a context of extreme heat and significant alcohol consumption. The police are also monitoring possible tensions between certain local ultra groups and Parisian supporters. To limit the risk of incidents, supporters of the two clubs will benefit from separate routes and separate spaces to the stadium.
