Aston Villa won the Europa League this Wednesday in Istanbul, clear winner in the final in Friborg (3-0).
The Birmingham club made the difference from the first act with works by Tielemans (41st) and Buendia (45th + 3), Rogers having delivered the final blow before the hour mark (58th).
The Villans offered themselves their first trophy in 30 years and the League Cup won in 1986. The second continental title for Aston Villa who in 1982 had won the Champion Clubs’ Cup, ancestor of the Champions League.
Note the great performance of Unai Emery, the former PSG coach who lifted his fifth European trophy here. Only his counterparts José Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti and Giovanni Trapattoni have done as well in the history of football.
