Premier League legend, the top scorer in Arsenal’s history, Thierry Henry holds a nice record tied with Kevin De Bruyne. For now…

Thierry Henry is not only an Arsenal legend, he is the top scorer in the history of the Gunners (228 goals) who has his statue in front of the Emirates Stadium. He is one of the greatest players in Premier League history. The 98 world champion led the London team to the title of champion of England twice and to the final of the Champions League in 2006, to be elected player of the English season in 2003, 2004 and 2006. European Golden Shoe in 2004 (30 goals) and 2005 (25 goals), he missed the Ballon d’Or by a whisker.

Furthermore, in the 2002-2003 season won by Ruud van Nistelrooy’s Manchester United at the expense of Arsenal, Thierry Henry finished with an exceptional record of 24 goals and 20 assists in the league. A fairly incredible performance that only Kevin De Bruyne has since matched in terms ofassistsduring the 2019-2020 season with Manchester City (still scoring 13 goals).

Bruno Fernandes behind Henry and De Bruyne

This season, Bruno Fernandes has a great opportunity to beat this record for assists in a PL season. The Portuguese playmaker is at 19 offerings so far, like Mesut Özil in 2015-2016 with Arsenal, but the Red Devils still have three games to play, against Sunderland, Nottingham Forest and Brighton. The formation relaunched by Michael Carrick is a third without rival and the next meetings could allow its number 8 to at least join Henry and De Bruyne.

Essential in his team’s play, the 31-year-old midfielder once again delighted his teammates during the victory against Liverpool in the Derby of England, last Sunday at Old Trafford (3-2). Bruno Fernandes made a delivery which allowed Benjamin Sesko to double the lead but the ball was touched by the Reds goalkeeper, Freddie Woodman, and no player was credited with an assist (14th).
