At the Mapei Stadium, Sassuolo created a surprise by winning against AC Milan during this 35th day of Serie A. The locals started the match perfectly by opening the score in the 5th minute thanks to Berardi, served by Laurienté. Milan tried to react but came up against a well-organized team, while tension rose, notably with a foul from Tomori shortly before the break. At half-time, Sassuolo logically led 1-0.

Returning from the locker room, Grosso’s men quickly took the break. Laurienté doubled the lead in the 47th minute, on a pass from Thorstvedt, putting Milan in great difficulty. Despite a few attempts, the Rossoneri never managed to get back into the game, lacking efficiency and offensive inspiration. Solid and realistic, Sassuolo won (2-0), confirming a controlled performance from start to finish.
