Lille missed the opportunity to get closer to second place in Ligue 1. This Sunday, the Dogues drew with Le Havre (1-1, 32nd day).

The day after the second consecutive draw conceded in the championship by Racing Club de Lens (1-1 against Nice), Lille had the opportunity to gain some ground on runner-up Paris Saint-Germain. This Sunday, however, Bruno Genesio’s men missed the opportunity. At least in part, since they did no better than sharing the points against Le Havre (1-1, 32nd day of Ligue 1).

Against Le Havre who have become specialists in the discipline with a fifth consecutive draw recorded this Sunday, Lille can blame themselves for not having been able to be more sharp and efficient offensively. But they will have come up against a Mory Diaw in good shape again and again in front of his cage.

Over the entire match, however, the statistics are relentless. 67% possession in favor of LOSC, but also and above all twenty-two shots (including ten on target) for two (including two on target). But dominating is not always winning and the Lille people had the sad experience of this in front of their public, behind them until the last second.

Lille and Le Havre still have work to do

However, it was the locals who opened the scoring through Arnar Haraldsson, the man most to his advantage during the game on the Mastiffs side. But almost immediately, the Le Havre people found the fault. And it was Issa Soumaré who got his team back afloat (1-1, 33rd).

Nothing more will be noted during the second act. Huddled in their half of the field, the visitors resisted until the end, they who are not yet sure of avoiding the blockades to maintain their position. This result allows them to provisionally have a seven-point lead while awaiting the result from Auxerre. As for Lille, they remain third, again while waiting for the OL match which could take them back in front in the event of a draw or success against Rennes.
