Bayern still stands out before Paris

Despite a large turnover between its two C1 halves against PSG, Bayern refused defeat this Saturday against Heidenheim.

Last week in Mainz, before their Champions League semi-final first leg at the Parc des Princes, Bayern came from behind, trailing 3-0 at the break to finally win 4-3. Eight days later, do it again. Jostled by Heidenheim at home, trailing 0-2 then 2-3, the Munich players managed to secure a draw (3-3).

For the occasion, four days before the C1 semi-final against PSG – this time at the Allianz-Arena – Vincent Kompany rotated his squad, keeping only four Parc starters at kick-off: Josip Stanisic, Jonathan Tah, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Jamal Musiala.

After a saving double from Leon Goretzka, it was the inevitable Michael Olise who allowed his team to avoid a second defeat this season in the Bundesliga – at the end of added time (90e+10) – not without the help of the unfortunate opposing goalkeeper. Success, yes, but induced success. Paris has been warned!
