Who to replace Achraf Hakimi?

While PSG will have to appear in Bavaria without Achraf Hakimi, there is no shortage of solutions to replace him despite the absence of a specialist in the position.

The infernal pressure delivered by Achraf Hakimi 80 meters from his goal was fatal. If he thought, at the time, he was suffering from cramps, as Marquinhos revealed after the match, the Moroccan suffered a hamstring injury and will therefore be absent next Wednesday for the return match in Bavaria.

The unavailability of the former Interista obviously constitutes a big blow for PSG as the Madrid native, like Nuno Mendes on the left flank, is an essential pawn of Luis Enrique, both defensively and offensively. And all the more so since the capital club does not have any other professional right-back.

However, several solutions exist for the Catalan technician, first and foremost Warren Zaire-Emery, who seems best placed to replace the African champion. It was he who replaced him last fall when he was seriously injured against… Bayern Munich. Achraf Hakimi continued with the African Cup of Nations and the young Parisian titi shone. So much so that some imagined him having a future as a right-back and campaigned for his tenure with the Blues.

The return of Fabian Ruiz is a good time

The return of the Moroccan and the injury of Fabian Ruiz meant that he then made himself indispensable in midfield but the Spaniard’s recent return from injury constitutes an additional argument to see him return to the right lane.

WZE is not the only solution, however. Joao Neves, another essential midfield pawn, has already helped out in this position in the past, whether at PSG or with Portugal as in the Nations League final against Spain. The same goes for Senny Mayulu, who replaced Achraf Hakimi after his injury on Wednesday.

Finally, another solution exists in defense with Lucas Beraldo, already used in the left lane in his early days. The Brazilian has recently been used as a sentry and has shown himself to his advantage, whether defensively or offensively.
