Didier Deschamps is spoiled. For his last campaign at the head of the Blues, the coach has multiple offensive options in view of the World Cup. The French team can notably rely on two of the best creators in Europe, Michael Olise and Rayan Cherki. Will they be associated this summer?
Téléfoot asked Bixente Lizarazu the question, and the 1998 world champion thinks not. According to him, only Olise will start with the Blues.
Olise leader of the Blues
The former Bayern player imagines Deschamps lining up Olise in support of Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé on the right, and another PSG player on the left, Désiré Doué or Bradley Barcola.
“In the French team system, Olise plays in the No. 10 position. This is Cherki’s post. So it’s a bit one or the other.”Lizarazu notes.
Since Didier Deschamps has been fixed on the 4-2-3-1 for several meetings, the only way to align Cherki and Olise would be to shift the Bayern player to the right. It’s his position at the club, but it’s Dembélé’s favorite side, who should therefore shift to the left. This will undoubtedly not be the coach’s priority option.
