While Michael Carrick is increasingly establishing himself as the favorite to definitively take the reins of Manchester United, his future is still uncertain with the Red Devils. After a series of eight victories in twelve games – which brings the club closer to qualifying for the Champions League – his place on the Mancuniens bench still remains legitimate, but mistrust would be present in his camp. Indeed, this situation reminded him of that of Ole Gunnar Solskjær, brilliant as an interim before experiencing more difficulties. The 44-year-old coach therefore refuses any direct comparison.
“I have the greatest respect for him. He’s a close friend and we’ve done a lot of good things together. It’s a different team and a different time. The comparisons don’t really make sense.” he indicated to Daily Maildemonstrating another point of view. However, he would have had discussions with Jim Ratcliffe and he would wait before launching one hundred percent into the adventure. “It’s not about timing for me. This will become clear in due time. I love being here, it’s a privilege with the responsibilities that it brings”.
