A month and a half before the World Cup, and while the Catalan club will play the second Clasico de Liga on May 10, Lamine Yamal was injured against Celta on Wednesday evening, taking the penalty which he converted. “We have to wait until tomorrow, there is probably a small injury because he felt something, he is not the type of player who leaves the pitch for no reason. We hope it won’t be anything serious, but we have to wait.”indicated Hansi Flick after the meeting.
It is therefore a rather bitter Sant Jordi that the Catalans will experience this Thursday, or at least those who support Barça. Indeed, the first predictions suggest an injury to the ischio of the left thigh. A possible absence for a period of five weeks, which would be synonymous with the end of La Liga for the Blaugrana number 10, is already mentioned by Mundo Deportivo. Some also fear for the World Cup with Spain.
Lamine Yamal is pessimistic
While waiting for the examinations which will be carried out during the day, the Spanish press is already revealing some information behind the scenes of the evening. El Chiringuito de Jugoneswho claims to rely on sources from the Barça locker room, tells us in particular that Lamine Yamal was shot after the match. He would then have the feeling that it is a more or less major injury, and not a simple elongation or contracture.
He was also very sad and his mother even came down to the locker room at half-time. An attitude which therefore does not really invite optimism in this matter… In any case, FC Barcelona should communicate about it during the day after medical examinations which will be scrutinized very closely. But for the moment, the trend is rather negative…
